In my prior post on Ferret Fun Facts, I mentioned the 1982 movie BeastMaster. If you’ve seen BeastMaster, then you know how cool the two ferrets in the movie are. I have seen trained animals that can do amazing things, but ferrets seem to have a mind of their own and a short attention span when you want them to do something, but Ferrets Can Be Trained! And quite amazingly well.

    2. A spayed female is called a Sprite
    3. An intact male is called a Hob
    4. A neutered male is called a Gib
    5. Baby ferrets are called Kits
    6. All baby ferrets are White at birth
    7. Some small ferrets can squeeze though holes just 1 inch in diameter
    8. Ferret life spans are from 6 to 10 years
    9. Ferrets have very flexible skeletal systems
    10. Ferrets sleep so soundly they may not awaken even when picked up and shaken
    11. The name Ferret means “Thief”
    12. Ferrets have no instinctive fear of humans
    13. Ferrets are part of the “Mink” family
    14. A newborn baby ferret can fit onto a Teaspoon

      The original BeastMaster Movie from 1982 was an awesome display of how well ferrets can be trained.  I was amazed when I first watched this movie and at the time, I didn’t really know what a ferret was!  If you’ve never seen this movie and you love ferrets, you need to either go rent it right now or you can pick it up at Amazon.com.
