Ferret owners are surely familiar with their pet having what is known as the frizzed-out look, or the frizzed-out tail. This look is a sign of excitement in your pet ferret, weather it be good or bad. This is a sign of extreme emotion and in this state, your
pet ferret can be very unpredictable. Your fuzzy may be frightened, upset, angry, surprised or even happy and just plain excited about something. If your furball has this look, proceed with caution, this is the time when they are more prone to biting, if the bottlebrush tail is any indication of anger or fearfulness. But it can also be that your little fuzzy is excited and wants to play, or has been overstimulated by some activity. Make sure you get to know your pet and you will be better prepared to understand these signs. In case you are interested, the official term given for this frizzed-out look is called piloerection. It’s similar to you getting goosebumps.
